How to Draw Bubble Letter A
A is built from two diagonal strokes meeting at a peak, held together by a crossbar. The classic beginner shortcut is to sketch it as an upside-down heart first, then square off the curves into a proper letterform.
Sketch the peak
Draw two diagonal lines that meet at a sharp point at the top, like a narrow tent. Keep both legs the same length so the letter stands upright instead of leaning.
Inflate the outline
Redraw the whole shape with a thick, puffy outline, turning the sharp peak into a soft dome. Imagine pumping air into the tent until the fabric bulges outward on both sides.
Set the crossbar
Draw the horizontal bar about one-third of the way down from the peak. In bubble style the bar floats inside the puffy outline with a small gap at each end rather than touching the sides.
Carve the counter
Leave the small triangle between the crossbar and the peak empty. That pocket of white space is what keeps the A readable at a glance, even from across the room.
Ink and erase
Trace the outer bubble edge with a black marker, erase the pencil skeleton underneath, and round off any corners that still look pointy.
Common mistake
The floating crossbar
Beginners usually draw the crossbar touching the outer edges of the letter. In bubble letters the bar should hover inside the outline with breathing room on both sides — a bar that touches the edges makes the A look cramped and heavy.

Lowercase
Lowercase Bubble Letter a
Lowercase a comes in two flavors: the double-story a you see in printed books, and the single-story version kids learn to write. For bubble style, the single-story form is far easier to inflate evenly.
Draw a plump circle
Start with a round, slightly squished circle — this is the bowl of the a. Leave it open at the top right where the stem will join the bowl.
Add the stem
Drop a straight stem down the right side of the circle, then round its top and bottom. The stem should stand about as tall as the circle itself.
Puff it up
Give the whole shape a bubble outline, keeping the inside of the bowl white and the stem thick. Don't let the outline swallow the bowl's opening.
